About University
The Poznań University of Life Sciences, one of Poland’s leading life sciences universities, traces its origins back to 1870, linked to the work of philosopher and agricultural education patron August Cieszkowski. The university’s history includes its integration as the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Poznań in 1919, evolving through World War II challenges and transformations. It became the independent Higher School of Agriculture in 1951 and later the Agricultural University, adopting its current name in 2008. With over 800 academic staff and a global network of alumni, the university continues its legacy in education and research across 23 fields of study.
